To kick off our Le-gig-cy series we have FEVER playing Jimmy’s Bar on October 5th 2019.
Before the Gig:
My Brother (@Mattwynn23) had tipped me off about the band. They had just been signed by the Blossoms record label, Very Clever Records. As a big fan of Blossoms, they were an obvious choice for me to check out.
They played 2nd out of 3 bands at Jimmy’s that night as part of a This Feeling event. This was the first of many they would do across the country.
They had released their first ever single, Jungle Man, onto Spotify the same day. The song is a lively track with a fantastically rousing chorus. This gave a small look into what I was in for.
The Gig:
FEVER completely blew away all expectations by providing banger after banger of phenomenal tracks. Each one performed with more energy and passion than the last. They had the audience fully engaged. Some people were even singing words back to them from songs they had never heard before that night. The energy of the band travelled to the crowd creating a sensational feel and atmosphere in the small basement venue at Jimmy’s.
Some of the standout tracks from the night were: ‘Glow’, ‘Money Love’ and ‘Electric’. Two of theses have now been released onto Spotify and are both seriously worth checking out.
I was fortunate enough to be able to grab their set-list from the night, something which is now pinned on my wall. I was also on the photo they shared from the gig, however I am sadly blocking myself with my own arm…

After the Gig:

Since that night, FEVER have continued with a strong momentum. Performing at many more gigs and eventually supporting Blossoms on their latest album tour (which is currently postponed).
I am very excited to see this band develop. In October, they already seemed to have a very solid albums worth of songs to play. Hopefully they are able to keep releasing singles and potentially an EP or full album in the near future.
